Procedure Description:
The basic shape and balance of the face can be improved by the use of carefully shaped implants. These are used to build up a receding chin, add prominence to cheekbones, or reshape the jawline.
What To Expect:
Through incisions concealed in the mouth or in a crease, a pocket can be created over the chin, cheekbones, or jaw. Carefully shaped surgical-rubber implants can then be place into the pocket. The result is to balance the appearence with other facial features.
Preprocedure:
During your pre-operative consultation in our office, Dr. Harvey will take your medical history, perform an examination, take clinical photographs, and recommend and explain options that are appropriate for you. Patient Coordinators, Patricia Gottschalk and Mamie Lee, will discuss financial information and assist in scheduling your procedure.
Postprocedure:
Back to work: about 1 week. Normal appearence: 2 to 4 weeks. Activity that could jar or bump face: 6 to 8 weeks.
